That’s why we take so much pain when clicking rug pictures for our Etsy listings. Every area rug photo is taken using industry-grade color calibration tools, and we photograph them in both:
- Cool white light (6000K) to show how the hand knotted wool rug looks in natural daylight
- Warm white light (3000K) to show how the rug looks during sunrise or sunset.
We do everything in our power to help you see the rug as it truly is—because transparency matters as much as craftsmanship.
Despite that effort, screens vary.
Smartphone screens over-saturate colors. So, if you really want to know how an area rug looks, view it on a laptop or desktop, preferably a MacBook because they are known for true-to-life color reproduction. Although most laptops do a great job.
